Chinedu Ede

Ede 2007

Chinedu Ede (born 5 February 1987 in Berlin ) is a German football player.

Origin

Ede grew up the son of a Nigerian father and a German mother in the Berlin district of Wedding. His father came with ten years after Germany and holds an engineering degree; his mother is a teacher.

Career

The striker began in 1993 with the Berliner AK 07 to play soccer and then went to the Reinickendorfer foxes 1998. By his own testimony, he moved in 1998 to the youth department of Hertha BSC. In the season 2006/ 07 he came into the first team squad of Hertha. His competitive debut was Ede on 16 July 2006 at the UEFA Intertoto Cup against FK Moscow, when he came on in the 84th minute.

On November 18, 2006, he played in the match against Borussia Dortmund for the first time in the Bundesliga for Hertha BSC and contributed an assist in the same. On April 14, 2007 finally came to VfL Bochum Edes first Bundesliga goal. Overall, he played in this year, 15 times for the first and in addition also for the 2nd team. In the 2007 /08 season he moved firmly into the Bundesliga squad, but came only four short sessions. After the season Ede moved to MSV Duisburg relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga, where he signed a three -year contract.

In January 2010, Ede transferred to 1 FC Union Berlin. On the first day of the 2010/11 season in a 2-2 draw against Alemannia Aachen, he scored his first goal for the Unioner.

For the 2012/13 season Ede moved to Bundesliga 1 FSV Mainz 05, in which he signed a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2016. During the winter break of the 2013/14 season he moved up to the end of the season on loan to the 2nd Bundesliga for 1.FC Kaiserslautern.

Private

Chinedu Ede attended the Lessing Gymnasium in Berlin- Wedding and tenth grade and joined in the summer of 2004 to the Poelchau Comprehensive School, one of four elite sports schools in Berlin.
