Chinese Badminton Association

The Badminton Association of the People's Republic of China is the highest national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in China. The association was founded in 1958.

History

The association was indeed founded on 11 September 1958 but remained two decades in self-chosen isolation hidden. Only at the Asian Games 1974, China's top players met for the first time on the rest of the Asian elite. 1978 own Badminton World Federation WBF was founded as a bone of contention with the other World Federation IBF particular to the evaluation of Taiwan and the voting rights under China's initiative. After settlement of the disputes, the Chinese Association in 1981 a member of the Badminton World Federation, then known as International Badminton Federation, when IBF and WBF combined. Since then, the rise of Chinese badminton was nearly unstoppable, and China since the mid- 1980s undisputed world power number one in this sport.
