Chipping Norton, New South Wales

The Chipping Norton Lake is an artificial lake in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales. It is located in the southwestern city of Sydney at a bend of the Georges River.

The lake was created in the 20th century by the mining of sand and sandstone. The quarries filled with water later and now serve the water sports. The operation of motorboats is permitted, their speed is limited to 8 knots.

The lake has three large pools and is surrounded by a leisure park with bike paths, playgrounds, boat ramps, and sports fields. The Georges River Environment Education Centre is also located there.
