Chirmont

Chirmont is a northern French village with 122 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Montdidier, is part of the Communauté de communes du Val de Noye, in the canton Ailly- sur- Noye.

Geography

The municipality is bounded on the west by the valley of the Noye, by the railway line Paris -Lille leads ( breakpoint in La Faloise ). The southeastern boundary is the road department D14, while the D188 leads in a north-south direction through the center. With Epagny (municipality Chaussoy - Epagny ) a link by a bridge over the Noye. Above the river valley is the homestead Ferme de Courcelles. In the northeast corner of the village there are several wind turbines. The distance to the located in the north of Ailly- sur- Noye is around 6.5 km.

History

The Church of Chirmont was canceled in 1904; in its place stands a belfry.

The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
