Chisago County, Minnesota
The Chisago County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, the County had 53 887 inhabitants and a population density of 49.8 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Center City, which was named after its central location between Taylors Falls and Chisago City.
The Chisago County is part of the metropolitan area of Minneapolis -Saint Paul.
Geography
The County is located in the east of Minnesota at the St. Croix River, which forms the border with Wisconsin. It has an area of 1146 square kilometers, of which 64 square kilometers are water surface. At the Chisago County borders the following Nachbarcountys:
History
The Chisago County was formed on March 31, 1851 from portions of Ramsey County and Washington County. It was named after the Chisago Lake, the largest lake in the county.
