Chitchor (Hindi: चितचोर, CitCor; translated: Herzensdieb ) is a Hindi film directed by Basu Chatterjee from the year 1976.

Action

Pitamber Choudhry, the principal of a school in Madhupur, has a daughter named Geeta. It embodies a typical village belle, is naive and childish. Pritamber older daughter Meera lives in Bombay and informed about a possible marriage between Geeta and a young engineer.

As Vinod arriving connect it all to heart. Especially Geeta is thrilled with him who teaches her to sing. The family already forges wedding plans again as a letter from Meera arrives. This states that the engineer was prevented for business reasons to visit the family. Vinad is merely an overseer who cares about the shops on site. The family is disappointed and try Geeta Vinod keep.

Sunil Geeta can suffer immediately and agrees to the betrothal, which is also quickly arranged. When Vinod hears of the engagement, he leaves the village before the ceremony begins. But Geeta opposes the wishes of their parents and insists on marrying Vinod. She hurries to the station and sees the departure of the train already. Dejected, she returns with Sunil.
