Chlodoric the Parricide

Chloderich, the parricide († 509) was the son of Sigebert of Cologne.

He fought as an ally of the Frankish king Clovis I in the battle against the Visigoths in 507, from which emerged the Franks victorious. After the battle Clovis instigated him to murder his father and himself to be king of the Franks Rhine in Cologne. His kingdom did not last long, because shortly after the murder of his father let Clovis Chloderich by his messengers kill. This Clovis I both had off, but protested his innocence publicly. He marched to Cologne and let rise even by acclamation of the Rhine, Franconia king. A revolt mouth Erich was defeated by King Theodoric I in the year 532.
