Chlorocardium rodiei

Green heart wood (even green wood, Eng. Greenheart ) is a hard wood. It originates from the tree Chlorocardium rodiei from the laurel family, which is native to the northeastern Guiana and the western Suriname.

The green heart wood is extremely hard and strong and with usual hand tools to work hardly. Since it is extremely durable even in the water, was / is much used in the construction of docks and similar facilities and ships.
