Chlum (Plzeň-South District)

Chlum is a municipality with 201 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers northwest of the city and belongs to the Blovice Okres Plzeň- jih to.

Geography

Chlum is located in 496 m above sea level. M. at the foot of the hill Pahorek creek on the ridge between the valleys of Úslava and Olešenský. East of the village, the State Road 20 runs from Pilsen to Nepomuk.

Neighboring towns are Chouzovy and Želčany in the north, and Vlčtejn Chlumánky in the northeast, Zdemyslice in the east, in the southeast Seč, Únětice in the south and Střížovice in the West.

History

Chlum was first documented in 1379. Presumably, the village is older and was founded in 1100 following the celebrations Wildenstein.

In 1904 founded the local volunteer fire department. Since 1929 Chlum had its own school. 1938 lived 378 inhabitants in the village. In 1981, the school was closed and the building has since availed as a nursery for Chlum and the surrounding villages.
