Choerilus of Samos

Choirilos the epic poet ( ancient Greek: Χοιρίλος ὁ ἐποποιός or Χοιρίλλος ὁ ἐποποιός; Latinized: Choerilus ) was an ancient Greek epic poet - Macedonian from the 2nd half of the 5th century BC.

Choirilos lived with Lysander and at the court of King Archelaus I. Macedonians in Pella, where he died. He headed in the epic of a new era, since it represented no more substances of gods and heroes, but as a first historical material, the victory of the Athenians over the Persian king, in his epic " Persika ".
