Choi Heung-chul

Choi Heung- chul ( born December 3, 1981 in Muju ) is a South Korean ski jumper.

Career

Choi began his international career in 1996 in the Continental Cup. After good performances he was able to qualify for the first time in late 1997 for a World Cup event and got a 25 at first World Cup points in Engelberg. At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, he finished 46th on the normal hill and the large hill to the 40th place. The next year he made at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 in Ramsau on the large hill the 66th and on the normal hill the 61st place. After another good performance in the World Cup, he reached the 43rd place at the Ski Flying World Championships in Vikersund. But the next season has been the worst so far in his career. He could qualify for a single World Cup event and also reached the Continental only mittelmäsige results. 14.01. he jumped for the first time only in the FIS Cup and was only ninth of 17 jumpers. In the next season, Choi was able to qualify more than once, but had no points. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Choi resigned as 48th after the first passage of the normal hill.

Since then, he again showed good performance. In the summer of 2010, he always qualified, also won four of the six races in which he competed points. The best were two twelfth. Places in Einsiedeln and Hakuba. At the end he got 54 points, finishing in 34th place overall. This was his best result in the Summer Appreciation ever.
