Chondroglossus

The Musculus chondroglossus ( " cartilage - tongues - muscle " ) is a small, in humans at about 2 cm long striated muscle of the head. It rises on the little horn of the hyoid bone and radiates into the tongue, where the muscle fibers are interwoven with those of the natural musculature of the tongue. The Musculus chondroglossus is considered by some authors as part of the hyoglossus muscle, but is separated from it by the genioglossus muscle.
