Features

Butterfly

The male moths reach a wingspan of 18-24 millimeters. Geographical distribution and occurrence

Chondrosoma fiduciaria comes very locally on the east of Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. In addition, there are localities in Tarbagataigebiet and in Siberia. The species is found on seasonally dry meadows and in xerotherm hills.

Way of life

Main flight period of the diurnal male moths are the months of October and November. They usually fly in unsteady flight in the morning in the sunshine in search of the females.
