Chone Monastery

The Chone Monastery or Jone Monastery (Tib. co ne dgon tion or co ne dgon chen dga ' ldan bshad sgrub gling ) is a monastery of Tibetan Buddhism in a circle Jone ( Tib: Chone; Chinese Zhuoni ) of Gannan Autonomous Prefecture of Tibetans in the southwest of Gansu Province ( Amdo ). There was originally a small Nyingma monastery in the place. Later on a Sakya monastery was built, which finally in 1459 a Gelug monastery. It was the domain of the Gelugpa Lamas dragpa Shedrub ( grags pa bshad sgrub; 1675-1748 ). The monastery is a famous traditional Tibetan printing location. One of the thirteen editions of the Tibetan Buddhist canon was printed here.
