Chonnabot District

Amphoe Chonnabot ( Thai: อำเภอ ชนบท ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mancha Khiri which, Ban Phai, Non Sila, phon, Waeng Yai and Khok Pho Chai. All Amphoe located in the province of Khon Kaen.

History

Mueang Chonbot ( ช ลบ ถ ) was a city-state ( Mueang ), which was created in 1783 at the beginning of the Rattanakosin period. Its center was at Ban Nong Kong Kaew ( บ้าน หนอง กองแก้ว ).

He was converted in 1914 to a district ( Amphoe ). In 1943, however, he was downgraded to a part of Amphoe Ban Phai. In 1966 he was again promoted to Amphoe, which consisted at that time of the Tambon Chonnabot, Kut Phia Khom, Ban Thaen and Wang Saeng.

Administrative units

Amphoe Chonnabot is ( tambon) divided into eight municipalities, which in turn in 80 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

• Chonnabot ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ชนบท ), consisting of parts of the tambon Chonnabot and Si Bun Rueang.

There are also eight administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
