Chorin

Chorin is a to the Official Britz -Chorin - Odersberg belonging municipality in the district of Barnim. The community is not up in the history, it originated around the year 2000 by the merger of places apart are sometimes very far and never had to do in the story linked. Historically Chorin was with Or mountain (about 1200 to 1400 nor the Ukranidorf Barsdin ) and connected with the Pehlitzwerder by the possessions of the monastery of Chorin.

Geography

Location

Chorin is located in the northeast of the district Barnim.

Expansion of the municipal district

Chorin extends from Britz in the west to the south shore of Parsteinsees in the east and from the Oder- Havel Canal in the south to the north Serwest.

Neighboring cities and communities

To the nearby cities include Eberswalde in the south, the west and Joachimsthal Angermuende in the north. In the vicinity of Chorin there are no other major towns in the founding of a monastery Cistercian monks stayed at that time on being as far away from the nearest locations.

Brodowin

Golzow

However, whether this mill was topographically and identical in content to the Ragöser mill, is not known. In 1996, the community received a coat of arms and a flag. The "talking coat of arms " in the longitudinally divided shield shows a pitcher and a mill wheel in the colors black and gold. Today Sandkrugbrücke has about 350 inhabitants. The town was incorporated on 27 September 1998.

Senft hut

Senft cabin has about 600 inhabitants ( 2000). The place recorded since the fall of 1990 a strong population growth, by 1990 there were about 190 people here. The first written mention of the town dates from 1784th As a founding date is January 1, 1706, however, when the first lease for the area was closed. The town's name derives from Johann Georg mustard. This was erected in 1705 a glass cabin on the property. The village has a church in which there is a baptismal font of art blacksmith Karl Kirchner. The town was incorporated on 27 September 1998.

Serwest

Serwest is a village on the main road between two Chorin and Angermuende.

  • Buchholz is a part of Serwest, which was first mentioned in 1258 as an independent place Buccolt mentioned in the foundation charters of the monastery Chorin. The name comes from the Middle Low German and means settlement at Buchenwald. At the beginning of the Thirty Years' War there was in the village a sheep farm with 1,500 animals. After the war, the place was deserted for a long time. 1860 began the operation of a potato distillery which was operated with a steam engine. The incorporation in Serwest took place in 1929.

In Serwest install and operate the VEB Elektro-Apparate -Werke Berlin -Treptow " Friedrich Ebert " an operating summer camp for the children of his company employees.

History

In GDR times, children have recovered in a summer camp of the place, which by the Reichsbahn Frankfurt ( Oder) was operated. Here also were children or sister-city of the. Railway management Bryansk and Polish children looked after.

Incorporations

Golzow, New Cabin, Sandkrugbrücke and Senft hut were incorporated on 27 September 1998. Brodowin and Serwest were incorporated on 31 December 2001.

Culture and sights

In the list of monuments in Chorin and in the list of ground monuments in Chorin are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg cultural monuments.

Particularly worth seeing in the immediate vicinity are the ruins of the Cistercian monastery Chorin Monastery with the tombs of Brandenburg margrave. Hugo Kaun wrote a suite set theme - Chorin Monastery.

Traffic

In 1857, Chorin was a station on the railway line between Berlin and Stettin. This station serves purposes only operational since 1995. In 1902 the more local breakpoint choir rabbits, later Chorin Monastery, opened. He is now under the name of Chorin in operation. The district Golzow also has a breakpoint on the railway line Britz Joachimsthal.
