Chos Malal Department

The Chos Malal Department located in the north of the province of Neuquen in southern Argentina and is one of 16 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by Chile, to the east by the province of Mendoza and the Departamento Pehuenches, to the south by the Departamento Ñorquín and to the west by the Departamento Minas.

The capital of the department Chos Malal Chos Malal is the same.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 14,185 inhabitants (2001) to 18,329 inhabitants in 2005.
