Chott Melrhir

The Schott Melghir (Arabic شط ملغيغ ), also Chott Melrhir, is a regular to smaller residues desiccating lake, a bulkhead, in the northeast of Algeria and in high water in small parts in west-central Tunisia.

It is located south of the Atlas Mountains in the Sahara lowlands and is mainly fed by the Wadi Djedi. His biggest expansion area is alluvial sedimentary basin, which adjoins the Sahara plateau in the south.

West of it is the Rir Valley and lie close to him Algerian cities Biskra, El Oued and Touggourt.
