Chris Ardoin

Chris Ardoin ( born April 7, 1981 in Lake Charles, Louisiana) is an American zydeco accordionist, frontman of the band "Double Clutchin. '" He is a grandson of zydeco legend Alphonse " Bois Sec" Ardoin. His father, Lawrence "Black" Ardoin is also a well-known Zydeco bandleader.

With four years Chris Ardoin joined for the first time with his father. At age nine, he accompanied his grandfather at a performance at Carnegie Hall. He was a member of his father's band, " Lagniappe ", before he founded with his brother Sean, his cousin Alphonse and Peter Jacobs, the band "Double Clutchin. '" The band's name derives from the typical double strike of the bass drum, which is for the sound of the "new Zydeco " (new Zydeco ) characteristic.

In 1994, the band's debut album, That 's Da Lick; at that time was Chris Ardoin whole 13 years old. The next albums were Lick It Up! (1995), Gon 'Be Jus' ine (1997), Turn the Page (1998) and Best Kept Secrets ( 2000).
