Chris Bailey (Animator)

Christopher " Chris " Bailey ( born March 26, 1962 in Portland, Oregon) is an American animator and film director.

Life

Bailey attended from 1980 to the Character Animation Program at CalArts and worked with Don Bluth Productions, where he animated video games on the computer. It was founded in 1984 animator at Disney Feature Animation and was among other things to Ariel, the Mermaid and The Rescuers involved in kangaroo country. He also animated several music videos, including that of Paula Abdul's Opposites Attract Single and Mick Jagger's Hard Woman.

Bailey gave in 1995 his directorial debut with the short animated film Mickey Mouse Monster, for which he was awarded Best Animated Short Film Oscar nomination in the category. He was also a director of ten episodes of the animated series Kim Possible, and was nominated as a director and executive producer of the series in 2003 for an Emmy. He was active as a director or supervisor for Animated Characters in numerous real films, as in Inspector Gadget (1997), Garfield - The Movie (2004) and Alvin and the Chipmunks - The movie (2007). After a long time as an animation supervisor for 20th Century Fox, Bailey worked as a consultant for 20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Studios. As a guest lecturer, he teaches, among other things, at California Lutheran University, CalArts and the Vancouver Film School animation.
