Chris Brokaw

Chris Brokaw is an American musician who is mainly known for his work with the bands Come and Codeine.

During his studies at Oberlin College Brokaw met with several influential figures in American indie rock of the 1990s. Among them were, among others, Stephen Always True, Sooyoung Park, Liz Phair and John McEntire.

Shortly after graduating Brokaw played drums in the band of GG Allin, just as on the first two albums Codeine. In 1990, he returned to his other main instrument, the guitar back. Together with Thalia Zedek, he formed the No Wave band Come.

Later published Brokaw several albums under his own name. The style varied from instrumental post-rock to Red Cities, to more catchy song structures to Incredible Love.

In 2007 he published together with Chris Eckman and Hugo Race under the name Dirtmusic an eponymous album.
