Christopher " Chris " Froome (born 20 May 1985 in Nairobi ) is a British racing cyclist who was born in Kenya.

Career

Chris Froome was born in Kenya and moved to South Africa as a teenager with his parents. After initial attempts on the mountain, he moved to road cycling. He began his professional cycling career with the team Konica Minolta as a Kenyan driver, but since June 2008, has British citizenship.

2005 Froome won a stage of the Tour de Maurice ( Mauritius ). The following year he was able to win two stages and so decided the overall rating for themselves. He also started in the fall at the road World Cycling Championships in Salzburg. 2007 drove Froome for the South African Continental team Konica Minolta. He finished sixth overall at the Giro del Capo and he won a stage at the Giro delle Regioni. 2008 Froome came at Barloworld under contract and contested in this year's Tour de France, the following year the Giro d' Italia. Since 2010 Froome moves for Sky Procycling.

In 2011 he won a stage of the Vuelta a España and missed the overall win by only 13 seconds behind the winner Juan José Cobo. He placed thus before his originally occurred as a team captain teammate Bradley Wiggins. In 2012, he was with 3:21 minutes distance to Bradley Wiggins second in the overall standings of the Tour de France. A month later he won at the Olympic Games in London, the bronze medal in the time trial. A year later he won the absence of Wiggins the 100th edition of the Tour de France, reaching it three stage wins. Froome is considered very high mountain and time trial.

2010 Froome the debilitating tropical disease schistosomiasis was detected. Since that time, it is treated with special drugs. Skeptics see this as parallels to Lance Armstrong.
