Chris Hughes

Chris R. Hughes ( * November 26, 1983 in Hickory, North Carolina) is an American entrepreneur. He was next to Mark Zuckerberg, Dustin Moskovitz and Eduardo Saverin one of the co-founder and spokesman for the online network Facebook.

Life

Hughes is the only child of a retired teacher and a former newspaper seller. He is a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Together with his roommates at Harvard University - Zuckerberg, Moskovitz and Saverin - 2004 he founded Facebook, which is now most widely used social network on the Internet, with only 1 % shareholder. As Facebook expanded beyond the borders of Harvard, he voted that each school can set up their own network - so that security and familiarity remain. Unlike Zuckerberg, he finished his studies and graduated in 2006 from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in History.

In 2007 he left Facebook to support the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. He coordinated the site My.BarackObama.com. (in short " MyBO "). Over a million of Obama's supporters used the platform to network with each other, to discuss and form action groups. In the U.S., Hughes is considered brilliant mind behind the online strategy of the current U.S. president. Among other things, he set during the campaign also includes Facebook, Twitter and other online portals. He pointed to it, which may have an impact on Digital Natives business and politics. The American business magazine Fast Company named him as the man who had helped the people in the Obama campaign, Barack Obama only to the presidency. In 2009, he was with his partner, Sean Eldridge, a guest at the first state dinner hosted by President Obama.
