Chris Jack

Christopher Raymond Jack ( born September 5, 1978 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand rugby union player at the position of the second row striker. He is 2.02 m tall and weighs 112 kg.

Career

Jack plays since 2007 for the Saracens in the English Guinness Premiership. Before that he played in New Zealand for Canterbury and Tasman Makos in the Air New Zealand Cup, for the Crusaders in the Super 14 (formerly Super 12 ) and internationally for the All Blacks. His international debut he gave against Argentina on 23 June 2001 in his hometown of Christchurch. With his size and athleticism, he has since established itself as a regular for the All Blacks and is now considered one of the best second -row forward in the world.

On 7 June 2006, reportedly, that Jack signed a two-year contract with the newly formed Tasman Rugby Union. Nevertheless, he announced that he will change after the Rugby Union World Cup 2007 to the English Premiership club Saracens. There also plays the connector Glen Jackson, who is also New Zealand. At the end of the season 2008/ 09 he will return to New Zealand and play again for the Crusaders and the Tasman Rugby Union. Previously, however, he is to be active for the Western Province in the Currie Cup in South Africa.

In 2002 he was elected to the New Zealand Rugby Player of the Year.
