Chris Kunitz

Christopher Kunitz ( born September 26, 1979 in Regina, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who currently plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

Career

The 1.83 m tall forward played for the team Ferris State University in the play mode of the National Collegiate Athletic Association before he was hired by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as a free agent on April 1, 2003.

In his first season he stood next to his missions in the AHL farm team Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, in 21 games this season in Anaheim on the ice, scoring six assists. The lockout season 2004/ 05 he spent exclusively with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, at the start of the following season completed the links contactors two games for Atlanta Thrashers, but returned to Anaheim. In the season 2006/ 07 Kunitz won with the Ducks the Stanley Cup. On 26 February 2009 Kunitz was transferred together with Eric Tangradi for the defender Ryan Whitney to the Pittsburgh Penguins. In the same year he won the Stanley Cup with his new team. In the final, the Penguins put 4-3 victories by against the Detroit Red Wings. Kunitz get into the playoffs while 14 points scorer.

Internationally

Kunitz represented his native country at the 2008 World Championship. During the tournament winger contributed two goals and five assists for the silver medal winning Canadian selection. In the final game against Russia, he scored the goal to make it 2-1 for Canada, however, the Russians won the match in overtime. 2014 he was with the Canadian National Team Olympic champion.
