Chris Landreth

Chris Landreth (* August 4, 1961 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA ) is an American director of animated films. It operates mainly in Canada.

Life

After studying at the University of Illinois and published there in 1986 his master's degree in theoretical and applied mechanics, he had difficulty finding work, and therefore spent several years working as an engineer for the U.S. military. In 1994, he joined the Canadian animation company Alias ​​and experimented with 3D software.

Landreth published in 1995 a six-minute animated film The End, the director portrays itself as it creates the movie and over will put an end to the work. The End was successful at several festivals and was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1996 as Best Animated Short Film. It was followed in 1998 of approximately four-minute short film Bingo, which received much attention as Landreths previous film. In 2004, the 14-minute animated film Ryan, who shows an interview that had led Landreth with Ryan Larkin appeared. This was in the 1960s and 1970s led to a successful animator, lost because of his alcohol and drug addiction but with time his family and became homeless.
