Chris Powell

Christopher " Chris " George Robin Powell ( born September 8, 1969 in Lambeth ) is a retired English footballer darker skin color and current coach of the English third division side Charlton Athletic.

Playing career

The left-back began his career in 1987 at Crystal Palace. In 1990, the Englishman for a year on loan to FC Aldershot. From 1990 to 1996, the left-footer earned his living at Southend United. He was bound by Derby County in 1996. 1998-2004 Powell played for the first time at Charlton Athletic. From September 2004 to June 2005 he defended on loan at West Ham United. At the beginning of the season 2005/ 06 the left-footed steered again for Charlton Athletic. Then he stood among others at Watford FC and Leicester City under contract. Thereafter, the full-back ended his active career.

Powell graduated five games in English football national team. He made his debut on 28 February 2001 in the match against Spain for the Three Lions, his last meeting for his country denied Powell on 13 February 2002 against the Netherlands.

Coaching career

On 14 January 2011 Chris Powell took over as coach at his longtime club Charlton Athletic.

Social Commitment

Powell is involved as an ambassador for Show Racism the Red Card.
