Chris Riggott

Christopher Mark " Chris " Riggott (born 1 September 1980 in Derby, England) is an English footballer. He plays in central defense, and since 2011 for Derby County in the Football League Championship active.

Career

Derby County

Riggotts career as a football player began in the youth department at Derby County, where he played in the U -19 team. In 1999, he came into the first team of County. His coach at the time was the future England coach Steve McClaren. At the end of the season 2000/2001 he was appointed to Derby County player of the year. Overall Riggot ran in four years at Derby County on 91 times and scoring five goals.

Middlesbrough FC

In 2003 he moved together with Malcolm Christie for a transfer fee of £ 3,000,000 ( equivalent to approximately € 4.5 million ) for Middlesbrough FC. In 2006, he was with Middlesbrough in the final of the UEFA Cup, but which went 4-0 against FC Sevilla lost. In 2008 Riggott was briefly loaned to Stoke City.

Cardiff City

After his contract expired in Middlesbrough, Chris Riggott moved in August 2010 to Cardiff City in the Football League Championship 2010/11. After he had played two league games for his new team, Riggott and Cardiff broke the contract on mutual agreement.

Derby County

On 10 August 2011, he signed a one-year contract with his former club Derby County.
