Chris Sanders (director)

Christopher Michael Sanders ( born March 12, 1962 in Colorado Springs, Colorado) is an American film animator and the creator of the characters from Lilo & Stitch. He currently lives in Los Angeles.

Life

He is both German, Dutch as well as of Jewish descent. Sanders was born in Colorado, where he is then also grew up later. As a child, Chris Sanders was a big fan of Beatrix Potter's books, a passion he shares today and miteinbindet in his films.

After working as an animator for the Disney movie Mulan in 1997, he filmed Lilo & Stitch, where he also co-wrote with his friend Dean DeBlois the script. Sanders also borrowed the main character from Lilo & Stitch his voice. He was involved in many other Disney productions themselves, including as a voice actor.

Disney later announced that there would be a TV series from the movie. Although Sanders himself remained as a voice actor on the show, but he got upset that the series does not really correspond to his idea of ​​a continuation of the project, he also rejected the new figures mostly from. Early 2005, Sanders was still working on the animated film American Dog, which is based on a story written by him. In March 2007, Chris Sanders was fired from the project. Chris Sanders works among other things as an author and illustrator, where he has written several books, including many non-fiction books. One of his better known works is The Art of Mulan, with whom he had worked with Jeff Kurtti as co -author. In addition, he led along with Kirk DeMicco directed and wrote the screenplay for the film The Croods, which celebrated its premiere in Germany on 15 February 2013 in the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin.
