Chris Snell

Chris Snell ( born May 12, 1971 in Regina, Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player (defender), who was active during his career, including for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League.

Career

Chris Snell began his career in 1988 with the Ottawa 67 's in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League, for whom he played a total of three years. In his last season in Ottawa, he played his best season with the team and reached the semi-finals of the play-offs. 1991 Links shooter was pulled by the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL Entry Draft at a total of 145 point. In the same year he took part for his country at the World Junior Championship. First, he played two years for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, the former farm team of the Sabres, with whom he reached the final of the 1993 Calder Cup. For the season 1993/94 the Sabres him transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he received first appearances in the National Hockey League. However, he continued to play - even after his move to the Los Angeles Kings - mainly in the Minor Leagues.

1997 Snell therefore decided to move to Germany to Frankfurt Lions in the highest German league, the German Hockey League. In his first DEL season he proved his outstanding offensive skills and became one of the top performers of Lions. Five years, interrupted by a year at Premier League rivals Hannover Scorpions, he played for the Frankfurt. Greatest success was about to reach the semi-finals in the season 1998 /99.
