Chris Stewart (politician)

Christopher Douglas " Chris " Stewart ( born July 15, 1960 in Logan, Utah) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of Utah in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Chris Stewart grew up on a dairy farm in the northern part of the State of Utah. Until 1978 he attended Sky View High School. Later he studied until 1984 at the Utah State University in Logan economy. In the meantime, he was active in mission for the Mormon church in Texas. Between 1984 and 1998 he served in the United States Air Force. He was employed as a pilot and achieved the rank of Major. In 1995 he set a world record for B-1 bomber, managed by the fastest circumnavigation of the globe. After his military service, he was employed in the private sector. Today he is chairman of the Shipley Group, a firm specializing in environmental and energy consulting firm. It also supports anti-terrorism courses of the government. Since the late 1990s, he also worked as a writer in appearance. He wrote a total of 14 novels.

Politically, Stewart became a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 2012 he was in the second constituency of Utah in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the Democrat Jim Matheson took on January 3, 2013, who moved into the fourth district. In the election he reached 62 percent of the vote.
