Christa Prets

Christa Prets ( born October 2, 1947 in Diez / Germany ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ) and from 1999 to 2009 Member of the European Parliament.

Life

Christa Prets made ​​a teaching office, trained as a PE teacher and headed several sports groups until 1994. After a move to Burgenland was 1968 Austrian.

She was a member of the municipal council of Pöttsching, Deputy Mayor since 1987 and was finally in 1991, the first directly elected mayor in Burgenland. In 1994 she was the provincial government and was responsible for Culture, Science, Women, Welfare and Sport.
