Her childhood spent in Königsberg / East Prussia. Through the chaos of war in 1942 the family came to Munich. My career goal was initially Opernsoubrette. She studied at the Munich Conservatory and later at the Academy of Music in Munich, vocals and harp, though now their love was jazz. Her great sängerisches model was Ella Fitzgerald. Christa Williams sang at the Bayerischer Rundfunk and was immediately secured a recording contract with Decca Records. Its first two singles, 'Oh, these men (1957) and Blacky Serenade ( 1957) were not very successful. In 1958 she had along with Jo Roland and the song Sky Blue Serenade (back: Oh, that would be nice ) their first hit. Together with Gitta Lind they had in 1959 a large ( probably their greatest ) success with My Happiness ( "Always I will be faithful to you ").

1959 Christa Williams represented Switzerland at the Euro Vision Song Contest ( until 1966: Grand Prix de la Chanson Européenne Euro Vision ) with the song from somewhere and was fourth. Has been forgotten that Christa Williams, Gitta Lind and Peter Franks box 1959 hit No car! had sung. More by Christa Williams remained unknown hits are: Sombrero / That's what happens ( Ariola ), Uncle Tom / Alabama ( Decca ) and Chou-Chou-Chou/Arizona Lola ( Decca ). Until the early 1960s, the artist, who moved in 1962 to the label Ariola, in show business was successful.

Christa Williams also acted in several films with, including Night at the Green Cockatoo ( 1957), all day is not a Sunday (1959) and Pension Schoeller ( 1960). In the latter film, she sang the song Do not say yes. Your film partners have included Karin Baal, Marika Rokk, Ann Smyrner, Theo Lingen and Walter Giller.

1962 married the artist Albrecht Huwig the pianist, whom she knew from her studies. In 1968, Christa Williams withdrew from show business and founded with her husband in Munich a music school.
