Christian Abbiati ( born July 8, 1977 in Abbiategrasso (MI), Italy) is an Italian football goalkeeper.

Career

Christian Abbiati started his professional career in 1996 at FC Monza and moved to AC Milan, where he was able to prevail in the internal competition against Jens Lehmann in 1998. From January 1999 until the summer of 2002 at Milan Abbiati was goalkeeper and was appointed national coach and goalkeeping legend Dino Zoff in the squad of the Italian national team for the European Championship in 2000.
