Christian Archibald Herter (physician)

Christian Archibald Herter ( born September 3, 1865 in Glenville, Connecticut, † December 5, 1910 ) was an American physician and pathologist. He was co-founder of the Journal of Biological Chemistry.

Herter in 1885 received his doctorate at Columbia University. He then continued his studies at Johns Hopkins University under William Henry Welch and Auguste -Henri Forel in Zurich.

In 1897 he was appointed Professor of Pathological Chemistry at the University and Bellevue Hospital Medical College. In 1903 he became Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Columbia University.
