Christian Backs

Christian Backs ( born August 26, 1962) is a former German football player.

Christian Backs played in the DDR - Oberliga for the BFC Dynamo. After his successful youth at BFC, he debuted in 1981 as a 18- year-old in the league. Until 1988, he won with the club eight times in a row, the East German championship in 1988 and 1989 as well as the fdgb Cup. For Berlin, the midfielder played 192 league games in which he scored 32 goals. He also appeared in 19 European games for the BFC on the ball

His career in the national team of the GDR, however, were not as successful. His international debut was on July 26, 1983 in Leipzig at 1:3 against the USSR, but in 1985 he retired from international football. The main reason was the excessive physical strain of the numerous competitions for the injury- prone player. Overall, he came to nine appearances in the national jersey of the GDR and in the match against Mexico scored his only goal. The biggest disappointment of his career suffered Backs 1984. After the successful qualification for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the Olympic boycott the GDR destroyed his dreams of participating in the games.

In 1992, Backs to the Reinickendorfer foxes and left it there, including in the regional, end his career until 1997. From 2000 to 2004 was tötig backs coach in Reinickendorf before becoming a coach again returned to the 2004/05 season to BFC Dynamo, from which he was suspended in April 2005 and moved to the summer break 2005 Oberliga Berlin AK 07. He was released after a few months in November 2005 and since then trained again Reinickendorfer foxes. In the season 2009/10 Backs was obliged again from BFC Dynamo, but again settled in advance by Heiko Bonan.
