Christian Berger

Christian Berger (born 13 January 1945 in Lans near Innsbruck) is in addition to his work as a university professor at the Vienna Film Academy screenwriter, film producer, cinematographer and director.

Berger is common with Bart Christian Bach as the inventor of an innovative illumination system called Cine Reflect Lighting System. In this case, the whole set is illuminated by a single, specially designed light source and various reflectors.

A situation created by him film prize will be awarded at the International Film Festival Innsbruck since 2005: the Christian Berger Prize or ray film magazine Documentary Award.

Berger is the uncle of actress Eva Green.

Career

His career began in 1968 as a permanent Berger freelance employee at ORF Studio for Tirol and Vorarlberg. In the 1970s, he founded his own production company and has worked extensively on documentaries and image coverage, but also worked as a director, producer or co-author of television productions.

After dozens of hours of documentary footage shot, he devoted himself in the 1980 's feature film projects for the cinema, for which he received numerous awards ( Directors' Fortnight in Cannes, Max - Ophüls-Preis Saarbrücken). In the 1990s he continued that work, and also took teaching positions at major film schools eg in France, Italy, Cuba and Austria on.
