Christian Boesch

Christian Boesch ( born July 27, 1941 in Vienna) is an Austrian opera singer.

Life

Christian Boesch is the son of soprano and chamber singer Ruthilde Boesch, who also taught him the song, and AE Boesch. His brother is the writer Wolfgang Boesch. Christian Boesch studied from 1959 to 1964 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Kammersänger Alfred Jerger and later in Milan and Trieste. Later he also studied drama and even German, where he received his doctorate in 1985. His singing career took him to Bern, Vienna, Saarbrücken, Kiel, and finally back to Vienna. Boesch was best known for the roles of Papageno from The Magic Flute at the Salzburg Festival. He is seen by many as the best Papageno in the world. The singer also appeared on many other famous European opera houses. Especially popular were his performances with the Tölz Boys Choir.

A particular concern of his was to explain to the children the opera. The Magic Flute for Children was one of his many and prestigious projects, the singer and theater scholars had performed throughout Europe. The Magic Flute for Children alone had reached about 450,000 children: it was played sold out in Cologne 120 times, each time before 1000 children. It was made a TV movie, which is also not raced in Channel 13 in the USA. Million children have experienced it - and if there were only a few who remain, the company had already its meaning ( Boesch 2004, p 68).

1986 emigrated to Chile from Boesch, describes itself as from an over-reaction to the Chernobyl disaster. Since then, he leads in the country, which he knew from previous performances, a biological agriculture. Moreover, in his new home, he founded a music school.
