Christian Carius

Christian Carius ( born September 22, 1976 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia ) is a German politician ( CDU) since 1999 and deputy in the Thuringian state parliament. Since November 4, 2009, he was Minister of Construction, Regional Development and Transport of the State of Thuringia.

Professional career

After graduating from high school in 1995 the school gate and the subsequent civil service Carius studied from 1996 to 2001 law not finish at the Friedrich -Schiller- University Jena. From 2001 to 2007 he studied law, political science and history at the University of Hagen. He completed his studies from as a political scientist (MA).

Policy

As early as 1995, he joined the CDU and the RCDS. He became deputy RCDS regional chairman (until 2001 ) and District Chairman of the Junge Union in the district Sömmerda 1999. At the regional elections of 1999 he was elected to the Thuringian Parliament and at that time was its youngest member. In addition, he was from 1999 to 2001 a member of the City Council in Sömmerda.

Carius is since his election to the Landtag member of the CDU faction Board and belonged from 2000 to 2002 for the first time the CDU Land Executive at. In 2003 he became deputy district CDU chairman in Sömmerda. Since 2004 he is a member there of the county; from 2004-2009 also 2 Alderman of the district administrator. In addition, Carius since 2004 is again the CDU Land Executive Committee and was from 2006 to 2009, deputy CDU parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament. After the formation of a coalition government of CDU and SPD after the state elections in Thuringia in 2009 Carius was appointed construction minister in the Cabinet Dear servant. In 2011 he was awarded the Order of the Fist craftsmen Carnival Society Weimar.
