Christian Engelhart

Christian Engelhart ( born December 13, 1986 in Ingolstadt ) is a German racing driver. He started from 2009 to 2011 in the Porsche Supercup.

Career

Engelhart began his motorsport career in karting in 2001 .. In 2002, Engelhart into formula racing in the German Formula BMW. He remained in his first season with no points. In 2003, he attended only four events of the German Formula BMW. It was a fifth place his best result and he finished the season on the 22 overall. After Engelhart had become two years been active in the Austrian Touring Car Championship and runner-up both seasons, he returned in 2006 to Formula racing and the German Formula BMW back. He participated in three race weekends, finishing in 16th place overall.

After a one year break Engelhart came back in 2008 in motorsport and joined the GT sports. He started in the German Porsche Carrera Cup and was 19th in 2009, he remained in this championship and improved with a podium placement on the ninth. In addition, he made his debut for SANITEC Racing in the Porsche Supercup and went to two races. 2010 succeeded Engelhart in the German Porsche Carrera Cup his first victory. In the overall classification he reached the seventh place. In addition, he performed for SANITEC Racing on up to two races to complete season of the Porsche Supercup. With a second place as best result he finished eleventh.

2011 moved Engelhart Porsche Supercup Konrad Motorsport and was team-mate Nick Tandy. He managed to get the pole position immediately at the first event in Istanbul. In the race, he defended the leadership and won for the first time in the Porsche Supercup. In the further course of the season Engelhart was the last race in third place on the podium again. With 106 points, he finished the season starting in eighth place overall. Tandy was fifth with 129 points. In addition Engelhart 2011 started a race in the German Porsche Carrera Cup as well as two races in the ADAC GT Masters, where he won a race together with Norbert Siedler.
