Christian Leberecht Vogel

Christian Leberecht Vogel ( born April 4, 1759 in Dresden, Electorate of Saxony, † April 11, 1816 in Dresden, Kingdom of Saxony ) was a German painter, draftsman and art theorist.

Life

The son of a Saxon Hofsattlers made ​​very early attracted attention by his artistic talent. So the "miracle child " has already been nine years of the painter Johann Eleazar Zeissig called Schenau (1737-1806), taught at the Dresden Art Academy, where he soon received a training grant for his outstanding achievements.

1780 his education was completed at the Academy and he came through his connections as a Freemason by Wildenfels.
