Christian Pampel

Christian Pampel ( born September 6, 1979 in Gehrden, Germany ) is a German national volleyball player.

Career

Christian Pampel began his career in 1995 in Baden-Württemberg Hochstetten. After three years in Frankfurt boarding school he went in 1999 to the Bundesliga for VfB Friedrichshafen, with whom he became German champion in 2000 and reached the final of the Champions League. The following year he took part with the senior national team at the European Championship in the Czech Republic, after he had brought with VfB the Double. In 2002, he repeated the double and in 2003 he won again the DVV Cup. The subsequent European Championships in Germany gave him the international breakthrough, the fans paid tribute with the election of the volleyball players of the year.

Then moved to Italy grapefruit. There he proved himself first at second division Loreto before it a year later to the first division Vibo Valentia changed, with which he began his inter alia the final of the Italian Cup. In 2005 he came to Semprevolley Padua and was elected in February 2006 "Player of the Month" in the Italian League A1. For the play-offs of the Greek Cup, he went briefly to Olympiakos Piraeus and then returned to Padua.

He belonged to the Germany squad, which in Japan placed ninth at the 2006 World Cup and at the 2007 European Championships in Russia was fifth. In the 2007 /08 season Grapefruit returned to Friedrichshafen and again won the domestic double. With the national team he reached at the Olympic Games in Beijing in August 2008, the 9th Place. After the Olympic tournament he played until December 2008 in Russia with Gazprom - Ugra Surgut ZSK, then again in Italy Copra Piacenza, where he celebrated his first title outside of Germany in May 2009, the Italian championship.

Then Christian Pampel moved to South Korea's Gumi LIG greaters Seoul, where he was dismissed in October because of a shoulder injury. From December 2009 he plays in Qatar for Al -Arabi Doha, where 2010, 2011 and 2012, he reached the championship. In 2012, he was with Al -Arabi also Asian club champions. 2013 he moved to El Jaish.

Private

Christian Pampel is married and has a daughter and a son.
