Christian Parenti

Christian Parenti is an American investigative journalist and author.

Parentis articles are usually published in The Nation and he is also a regular on Doug Henwoods Radio Show, Behind The News, KPFA, Berkeley to listen, to discuss his work. He also writes for numerous other publications, including the London Review of Books, Mother Jones magazine and Condé Nast Traveler. He has been a professor at the SIT Graduate Institute today.

Parenti is the son of Michael Parenti, a living in Vermont artist, and Susan Parenti. He graduated from the Buxton School in Williamstown, the New School for Social Research in New York and the London School of Economics, where he would eventually his Ph.D. degree sociology received. He now lives in Brattleboro and New York City. In his latest work, Tropic of Chaos: Climate Change and the New Geography of Violence ( 2011) Parenti examines the interrelationships of climate change with social and political unrest in the Middle climates in the world. Parenti also reported from Afghanistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Bolivia, South Africa and China. " Tropic of Chaos " appears at the end of 2012 in a German edition by Laika -Verlag.
