Christian Quadflieg

Christian Quadflieg (* April 11, 1945 in Växjö, Sweden ) is a German actor, director and reciter. A wide audience, he was known for the series The Country Doctor, in the years he held the lead role.

Life and career

Christian Quad Fliegs parents were the actor Will Quadflieg (1914-2003) and Benita von Vegesack ( 1917-2011 ). His sister Roswitha Quadflieg is a writer and book illustrator.

Quadflieg spent his school years in Hamburg. He then completed a three-year training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum (now acting school in Bochum ). Between 1969 and 1973 he was engaged at the stages of Oberhausen, Wuppertal and Basel. It was followed by appearances at theaters in Berlin ( Volksbühne ), Hamburg (Thalia Theater, State Opera ), Munich ( Staatsoper ) Vienna ( Theater in der Josefstadt ) and Zurich ( Playhouse ), as well as at the Salzburg Festival.

On television, Quadflieg appearances in numerous films and series ( eg The old man, Derrick, The Love Boat, Siska ). In 1977 he played the male lead in the produced in London and in the English language science fiction television series The girl from outer space.

In 1986 he played in 41 episodes in the series The Country Doctor in the title role. In 16 episodes, the director was in his hands. In the second to fourth season of the series played Quad Fliegs wife Renate Reger Ina Eckholm. In the ARD series Vater wider Willen Quadflieg played the male lead, the conductor Max Oldendorf.

In recent years he has been mainly with poetry readings throughout the German-speaking countries go, including the Vienna Burgtheater, in Zurich's Schauspielhaus theater and comedy in Berlin and at the Schleswig- Holstein Music Festival. Its now limited presence on TV screens, he explained with the fact that he has become choosy in selecting his movie roles a bit.

In 2008 he founded his own record label " cqorheus ". Of the numerous CD recordings won the title: " Fathers and Sons - Exchange of letters Thomas Mann and Klaus Mann " the Prize of the German Record Critics. Christian Quadflieg is a member of the Free Academy of the Arts in Hamburg.

As a voice actor he lent among other things, Dean Stockwell (Paris, Texas) and Jon Finch ( Dr. Faustus ) his voice.

He has lived in Hamburg since 1991.
