Christian Ruuttu

Christian Ruuttu ( born February 20, 1964 in Lappeenranta ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League, among others, for the Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks in its active from 1982 to 1999. His son Alexander is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Christian Ruuttu began his career as a hockey player with Ässät Pori, for until 1985, he was active from 1982 in the SM- liiga. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in the seventh round in 1983 when a total of 134 players from the Buffalo Sabres and failed with his team in the season 1983/84 until the playoff finals at Tappara Tampere. From 1986 to 1992, the Links shooter was active as a regular player for Buffalo in the National Hockey League, before he was released on June 15, 1992, in exchange for Stephane Beauregard to the Chicago Blackhawks. The shortened because of the lockout season 1994/95 started the Finn with his former club HIFK Helsinki before in the NHL he returned after resumption of gaming operations to Chicago.
