Christian Schilling

Christian Schilling (* October 11, 1879; † July 14, 1955 ) was a German football player.

The striker played for the Duisburg SpV. He played in 1910 two caps for the senior national team. He got his first international cap, the first international match of a German national team against a selection of the Belgians under happy and rather random circumstances. Because of turf wars and injuries the German national team could muster only seven regulars. It was, according to legend forced good players to pick from the stands. Since the game was held in Duisburg, " hit ", it also Schilling, as well as Alfred Berg Stockhausen, Andreas Breynk and Lothar Budzinski - Kreth. As at that time almost usual, but this time comprehensible, lost the German team 0-3.

Since Schilling regular players of Duisburg SpV was played with this in the German Championship and West Germany had supported in Crown Prince Cup, the tradition in his case seems doubtful, especially since he then again on October 16, 1910 in Kleve in the 1-2 defeat was against the selection of the Netherlands, was appointed.

The qualified businessman also was considered a good athlete and passable tennis player.
