Christian Taylor (athlete)

Christian Taylor ( born June 18, 1990 in Long Iceland ) is an American triple jumper. He was 2011 World champion and 2012 Olympic gold medalist.

At the World Junior Championships 2007, he won gold in the triple jump and bronze in the long jump. The following year, he reached the eighth and seven at the Junior World Championships. As a student at the University of Florida in 2009 and 2010 he was in the hall and 2010 outdoor NCAA champion.

After he had become 2010 U.S. runner-up, he went as a U.S. champion at the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu and won the gold medal in the triple jump there. With his winning distance of 17.96 meters, it occupies the fifth place in the Eternal World leaderboard. 2012 Taylor became vice world champion in Istanbul. At the Olympic Games in London, he won with a distance of 17.81 m the gold medal.

Christian Taylor is 1.88 meters tall and weighs 79 kg. He is trained by Rana Reider, who also oversees the long jump champion Dwight Phillips. In 2011 he was taken from sportswear manufacturer Li Ning Company Limited under contract.
