Christian Vander (2009)

Christian Vander ( born October 24, 1980 in Willich ) is a former German football goalkeeper.

Career

He already started with four years at Victoria Anrath (then Blue-White Anrath ) with the football games. He then played at the 1st FC Viersen in youth. He joined in 1996 in the youth department of KFC Uerdingen 05 From 2000 to 2005 he played for VfL Bochum, where he played 19 Bundesliga games in five years, but could not prevail against the goalkeeper Rein van Duijnhoven.

He was loaned for one year from VfL Bochum at Werder Bremen, where he signed a firm contract before the season 2006/ 07, which was extended in May 2008 to 2010 in 2005. On 21 April 2010 it was announced that Vander has his expiring contract again extended by two years until 2012.

For the 2007 /08 season Vander was number 2 in the gate of Werder Bremen after the Treaty of Andreas Reinke had not extended behind Tim Wiese.

However, he lost this place to Sebastian Mielitz why he debuted on August 19, 2010 in the second team of Werder, in which he played from then prevalent.

After the 2012/13 season Vander ended his active career and joined the coaching staff of Werder Bremen.
