Christian Wagner (director)

Christian Wagner ( born September 26, 1959 in Immenstadt ) is a German film director and screenwriter.

Life

Wagner studied from 1981 Modern German Literature, theater and psychology in Munich and turned the way his first feature-length films. Nico Hofmann, Jan Schütte, Werner Penzel, Nico Humbert, Donatello Dubini, Fosco Dubini and others in 1985 he founded the independent rental cooperative " A different view ".

For his feature film Wallers last passage (played by Rolf Illig ) of the path tells the story of a distance walker, whose line is shut down, Wagner received the 1988 Bavarian Film Award, the Award of the German Film Critics, the German Film Award in (film band in silver ) and a Felix Award nomination.

His second major film Transatlantis ran as a German contribution in the Competition of the Berlinale 1995 The short film Zita -. A short film about the inertia was honored at the Torino Film Festival Internatizionale with the Special Jury Prize.

For the television film ghettokids Wagner was awarded the Golden Gong in 2002 and was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize in 2003.

His third feature film Warchild - Warchild, the second part of Wagner's " Balkan Blues Trilogy " had its world premiere at the World Film Festival in Montreal in August 2006 and received the award for best screenplay. The film is filled with Labina Mitevska and Katrin Sass in the lead roles and has been honored with the award of the Bavarian Film Prize 2006 with a Special Jury Prize.
