Christian Zeller

Julius Christian Johannes Zeller ( * June 24, 1822 in Mühlhausen am Neckar, † May 31 1899 in Cannstatt ) was a German mathematician and Württemberg pastor.

He studied mathematics, geography and theology. In 1874 he became rector of the seminary in Markgroningen. In 1882 he developed his formulas for calculating the weekdays and for calculating the date of Easter ( Zeller's congruence ).
